How does the Brawoliner process work?
Brawoliner technology is used for trenchless sewer rehabilitation measures (closed construction method). A flexible hose carrier (= liner), which consists of corrosion-resistant synthetic and/or glass fibers, is impregnated with reactive resins and inverted into the sewer to be rehabilitated via a manhole or pipe opening with the aid of an inversion system.
The liner is transported to the damaged area using air or water. The resin-impregnated liner is cured in the pipe section using hot or cold curing.
The optimum curing time is calculated for each liner. Once the reactive resin has cured, the liners fit snugly and tightly against the inner pipe wall. The resulting pipe-in-pipe system forms a single unit with the old pipe and fully meets future hydraulic requirements. Bends up to 45° can also be rehabilitated.
A distinction is made between the procedures according to the requirements of the refurbishment measure:
- Installation (inversion) of liners with closed end (from manhole to manhole)
- Installation (inversion) of liners with an open end and simultaneous installation of a calibration hose. (From one access point)
